The Chinese Painting

This contemplative, early-morning poem by Mary Wehner, The Chinese Painting, written at the edge of a Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin, evokes that pensive and peaceful moment at sunrise treasured by many.

Birmingham artist Jane Marshall has studied the forms and habits of swans, the leading characters here, and gives us two drawings—sketches really—loose and full of motion.

This poem print was designed and printed by Steve Miller in an edition of seventy-five copies, signed by the author, Fall 2003. The Perpetua types and line drawings are printed in three colors on a Vandercook proof press using photopolymer printing plates on slightly dampened Frankfurt Cream mould made paper, 8.5" by 15". $50.00
